Our Story
Hey y'all! We're so glad you're here.
God placed the idea for this podcast on Sydney's heart in February 2019. She was coming out of a hard season of depression and felt God leading her to share the struggles she had grown from. So many of us face struggles we hide and never talk about, and she wanted to bring them into the light.
When she told Austin about it, he thought she was crazy. He didn't have a PhD, and he didn't feel smart enough to do something like this. But after months of praying and seeking God's will, we released our first episode in June 2019.
Since then, God has taken us through a lot of seasons. We've taken breaks, moved to a new state, and stepped into new ministry. Today Austin serves as the Associate Pastor of Student Ministries at Cedar Crest Baptist Church, and we're raising and homeschooling our four kids. Through all of it, God has been faithful, and he keeps reminding us that the hard things in life are often where we grow the most.
What We Believe
Unapologetic about biblical truth.
We're unapologetic about biblical truth. God's Word is true, it's enough, and it speaks to every part of our lives: our marriages, our families, our struggles, and our hardest days. We won't water it down.
We also believe every believer needs to take ownership of their faith. A podcast can encourage you, but it can't replace your own time with God. Our heart is to point you back to Scripture so you can open your Bible, dig in for yourself, and grow a faith that's truly your own.

Storms and hardships are part of every believer's life. Add marriage, parenting and everyday life, and things can get even harder. On The Struggles We Grow From, we're honest about those storms and dig into what God's Word says about them.
No matter the struggle, our prayer is that you hear biblical truth and are encouraged in your faith. Whether you're in the middle of a storm or resting in Christ and need a reminder of what's true, we hope you'll find a friend here.
We still can't believe we get to be part of what God is doing, and we love this ministry.

We believe marriage is a picture of Christ's love for the church — and that it's worth fighting for, especially in the hard seasons.

Discipleship starts at home. We want to help families build rhythms of grace, truth, and worship in everyday life.
Discipleship
God's Word is sufficient for the storms we face. Every conversation comes back to Scripture and the hope we have in Christ.
